Kalida Edwards (Australia)

Kalida Edwards is a Melbourne-born writer of Jamaican and Sri Lankan heritage. Inspired by real-life experiences as a Black woman in Australia, her work explores themes of race, desire, and mental illness. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Monash University and began a Master of Creative Writing at Deakin University before pursuing a career in political communications. Girl With a God Complex is her debut novel – a dark exploration of a young woman on the edge. Above all else, Kalida values her family. She is a mother of two, a devoted cat lover, and deeply inspired by the kind of success that proves people wrong.
