Alison Edwards was born in Australia and has lived and worked in various European countries. She holds Australian, British and Dutch citizenship and is currently based in Amsterdam with her husband and young son. After studying journalism and German, she obtained her PhD in linguistics at the University of Cambridge. Her academic research focuses on language ideologies and policy, particularly the ownership of English by its non-native speakers. She now works as a freelance editor and translator. Alison is currently working on her debut novel.
