Claire Christian (Australia)
Claire Christian is a joy-led storyteller: a writer and theatre maker based in Meanjin. She has had two adult novels published by Text Publishing, West Side Honey (2023) & It’s Been a Pleasure, Noni Blake (2020). Her first book Beautiful Mess (2016) won the YA & Children’s Text Prize. Her novels have been sold internationally. Claire's plays Lysa and The Freeborn Dames, Talking to Brickwalls, The Landmine is Me and Hedonism’s Second Album have been published by Playlab. She was a Queensland Theatre Writing Fellow (2023) and has recently been awarded a Varuna residency to write her next novel.
