Vicky Xu (Australia)
Vicky Xu is a journalist, writer, and researcher.
Currently Senior Fellow at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute, her journalistic work is focused on Chinese politics and human rights issues.
Xu used to cover China and beyond for The New York Times and The Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Her writings and research findings have been quoted in legislations around the world, and published by media outlets including the Washington Post, AP, CNN, NBC, CBS; the ABC, Channel 10, SBS in Australia; BBC and Channel 4 in the U.K.; NHK in Japan, and others.
Xu runs the bilingual podcast Speaking Till the End. Her memoir, You’re So Brave will be published in 2024 by Allen & Unwin.
In her spare time, Xu also performs stand-up comedy and undertakes screenwriting projects.
